Sun and Sand Comic Anthology highlights comics by cartoonists in South Florida!

Black Josei Press and Radiator Comics have teamed up to publish an anthology by South Florida cartoonists about the region’s unique characteristics!

Our 2021 anthology features eleven new comics about the region, its people, its wildlife and its foods! A print edition of 600 copies is being distributed at the Miami Book Fair in November, and at various locations in South Florida in December to coincide with Miami Art Week. A limited quantity will be available for request to be shipped to readers in the mail.

Our 2020 anthology featured ten new comics! A print edition of 500 copies was originally scheduled to be distributed throughout South Florida on May 2, 2020 (free comic book day). Due to COVID-19, distribution was delayed, and made available by request through the mail in October 2020.

The 2021 anthology and a portion of the2020 anthology were made possible with the support of The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Black Josei Press is a publishing company that specializes in amplifying comic books and merchandise by and for Black and Brown women. They aim to increase the amount of comics by and for Black and Brown women by carving a space for them in the community.

Radiator Comics distributes, produces, and promotes handmade, self-published and small press comics that focus on self-expression and storytelling. At the core of its mission is a commitment to increasing the population of comic book readers, providing support to comic book makers to create the best work they possibly can, and to fairly compensate those creators for their work.
